Introduction to the bilingual section

At IES Conde Diego Porcelos, our Bilingual Section offers students the opportunity to learn and live English in-depth. Through subjects taught in both English and Spanish, students improve their communication skills while gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures.

Our goal is to prepare them for a global world where English opens doors to education, travel and professional success. Learning in a bilingual context makes our students more confident, curious and ready for the future. Each year students have a minimum of two subjects taught in English. The subjects the school offers are: biology and geology, geography and history, music, technology and economy. On top of that, our students get one extra hour of English per week, which allows them to be more exposed to the target culture and language. Some of these classes are used to do more dynamic and fun projects for our students.

Our activities

Our bilingual program goes beyond the classroom! Students take part in exciting activities that bring English to life. We have taken our students to a wide range of activities, from a linguistic immersion in Sierra de Gredos to a ceramics workshop or watching a play. They also often have the chance to travel abroad to places like Ramsgate or Dublin, where our students experienced English culture firsthand.
